¡¡Hola majitas/os!!
En una de las entradas anteriores os comentábamos que teníamos un «proyectito» que nos hacía bastante ilusión, pero no os adelantábamos nada más. Ayer nos adentramos en él y ya os podemos contar algunas cositas. El proyecto es el VI Encuentro Fashion Blog Pasarela Gasteiz On y hemos tenido la suerte de ser invitadas. Nuestra labor en él consiste en visitar y entrevistar dos comercios, adjudicados por la organización, que participan en la Pasarela Primavera Verano 2016, y acudir a los diversos desfiles que tendrán lugar la semana que viene.

In one of our last posts we mentioned that we had a project which we were very excited about, but we couldn’t say anything else by then. Yesterday we started getting into it, and we can now start giving you some details. We are pleased to have been invited to ‘IV Encuentro Fashion Blog Pasarela Gasteiz On’, which basically is Vitoria (Baske Country capital city) Fashion Week. Our role in this event is visiting two stores participating in the fashion week and interviewing them, in addition to attend next week fashion shows.(Yayyy!!)

La primera parada fue Lanas Mayka, una tiendita con mucho encanto en la calle Fueros 5. Mayka, su dueña, es encantadora, una todoterreno y ,por lo que pudimos comprobar, muy querida por sus clientas. Sacó un huequito en la tarde de ayer para atendernos y contarnos su historia teniendo tres talleres simultáneos en su local. Lleva desde los 15 años en el mundo de las lanas y desde 2011 con su propio negocio. La tienda consta de dos alturas decoradas con mucho gusto y con muchos detalles en cada uno de sus rincones. En la primera planta se encuentra la tienda/mercería y un pequeño espacio con una mesa para la realización de uno de los talleres, y la parte superior podríamos decir que es el taller donde se hacen las actividades y a la que solo acceden alumnas. Imparte diversos talleres y tiene público de todas las edades. Ayer coincidimos con tres grupos, uno de bolillos en la parte superior y dos en la parte inferior de punto. Se atreven con cualquier modelo y prenda. Mayka es una verdadera artista y es capaz de sacar patrones que a simple vista a cualquiera parecerían imposibles,pero como ella nos dijo «no hay nada imposible».
Our first stop was to visit ‘Lanas Mayka’. A charming store in 5 Fueros street. Mayka, the owner, is very kind, multitasking, and very appreciated by her customers. She made some time for us while she had three simultaneous workshops going on in her store. She told us her story. She started working with wool when she was 15, and she founded her business in ‘Lanas Mayka’ in 2011. Her store is a open concept two storey place, carefully decorated, and with little details that takes part in the materials and models display. As we get into the store, there are several counters with lots of materials, and also a big table where one of the workshops take place. The second storey is a workshop area, where only the students access. She teaches different techniques to work with wool, and her students’ age range is very wide. Yesterday we saw three different groups, one working with bobbins, and the other two knitting. They dare to knit any piece of clothing and style. Mayka has a very good eye, and is able to get the pattern of impossible garment. As she said to us, ‘nothing is impossible’.
Os dejamos unas cuantas fotos y os animamos a que os adentréis en el maravilloso mundo del punto. A nosotras ya nos tenía enganchadas antes de esta visita, fuimos con mucha ilusión y salimos encantadas. El trato fue estupendo y el lugar muy acogedor.
Here we show you some pics from our visit, and we encourage you to start in the amazing and entertaining world of knitting. We were already addicted, and we left Mayka’s store delighted and happy. Mayka was very welcoming and the place cozy.
El local y el ambiente nos recordó a un libro que leímos hace mucho tiempo y que os recomendamos, seguro que pasáis un buen rato, «El club de los viernes: ocho mujeres, y ocho maneras de tejer la vida».
Her store and its atmosphere reminded us to a book that we read a while ago and that we recommend to you : ‘ The Friday Night Knitting Club’.
